Warren Farm is located just off the M5 Junction 22 at Brean - I think it's a
fantastic site, with plenty to do.
There are 6 fields for camping
or caravanning, although only field 5 accepts dogs, The exercise
areas for the dogs are excellent and all have bins for the dog waste. There is a seperate field for kids to play games, with proper football and basketball pitches there.
All the pitches are
level, and there are plenty of disabled pitches, no further than 20 foot from the toilet/laundrette and shower blocks, and all have
electric points.
My only gripe about the showers would be you need 20p for them and the coin-boxes are outside the cubicle - so I make sure I turn the dial for the longest setting, so I don't run out of water mid-shower. The showers on Field 6 are brand new and won Loo of the Year 2007 - these are beautiful showers and even have a radio to listen to while you are doing whatever you may do in there! The showers in the new blocks are 50p for 8 minutes.
The club on the site offers fantastic cabaret acts in season and also has good food - the Sunday cavery is super! It costs £6.40 for adults and £3.50 for kids and is excellent value for money.
If you take the kids to this site, they'll love it - there is still a small working farm, and the kids are welcome to help with the animals. There is a play area on each field, plus a massive field, completely fenced in, where the kids can play safely
Although the site is big, it still manages to have a small and friendly feel about it, with wardens in each field to make sure everything is fine.
There's a wonderful dog walk to keep the pets happy.
If fishing is your thing on the site there are 3 fishing lakes, which are free to guests - and the shop on site sells a good range of tackle and bait.
The site has a good chip shop/Chinese takeaway.
The beach is a short stroll across the road but I tend to take the car about a mile, to where you can drive and park on the beach .Walking through the sand dunes can be a problem if you have breathing difficulties.
Brean Leisure Park is only 3/4 mile away, and makes a good day out if you like funfairs. There is a swimming pool complex there with flumes and wave machines, but I prefer to stroll around the garden center or caravan shop on the site. You can visit various markets and car-boots in the local area during your stay, and in high season the market comes to Warren Farm on a Wednesday.
If you like somewhere lively, Weston-super-mare is only 10 miles away; but for a quieter day out, try Burnham on Sea, about 3 miles away.
All this is just £9 including electric; in high season the price rises to £16, but there are no additional charges for awnings, pup tents or dogs.
Seasonal rates are currently approx £1023 but there is quite a long waiting list for vans over 20'.
